Crypto.com Staking & Earn (Updated 2026-08-14)
Crypto.com offers two separate yield products in the App: Crypto Earn (platform allocation rewards with Flexible / 1-month / 3-month terms) and on-chain Staking (protocol PoS rewards via validators). CRO locked or staked for Level Up card/plan benefits is a third, distinct mechanism — it is not the same as putting CRO into Earn.

Crypto Earn — Terms & Mechanics
- Flexible: Withdraw anytime from Portfolio. Rewards use minimum daily balance; accrual starts the day after allocation. Flexible is not subject to the fixed-term tier bands below.
- 1-Month Fixed: Higher rates than flexible on many assets. Rate locked at term creation. Early withdrawal = original deposit − rewards already paid (CRO fixed terms cannot exit early).
- 3-Month Fixed: Longest standard Earn lock; usually the best Earn headline rates for a given asset/plan.
- Level Up boost: Higher Earn rates with Level Up plans. From 5 Sep 2025: Private US$50k plan +1% p.a. and Private US$500k plan +2% p.a. on fixed-term allocations, paid in CRO (not CRO itself; not Earn Plus tokens).
- Rewards formula (fixed): daily = amount × (annual rate / 365). Paid weekly in the same asset as the allocation (Private bonus portion in CRO).
- Earn Plus (USDC & USDT): No tiered quota; higher caps — up to US$2,000,000 total per user and US$500,000 fixed-term per crypto under Earn Plus, regardless of Level Up plan. Footnote: Earn Plus balance is not eligible for the legacy Private Member extra 2% card bonus tied to pre–5 Nov 2024 card applicants who have not moved to Level Up.

Tier 1 quota fills first. A single oversized allocation that crosses a band is charged entirely at the lower band unless you split it manually. Live coin-price moves change remaining Tier 1/2 quota even though the rate on an open term stays locked.

Figures below are the public up to rates on crypto.com/en/earn (Tier 1 column). Actual App rates vary by term (Flexible / 1M / 3M), Level Up plan, jurisdiction, and fixed-term tier band. Tier 2/3 columns are illustrative using the official 0.5× and 0.3×-of-T2 multipliers on that headline — confirm live in-app before allocating.

Earn Plus stables on the same page list USDT/USDC separately (marketing showed 0% placeholders in the static hero — always read the live App quote). Private Members marketing also cites an extra 1% p.a. in CRO on eligible structures.

Quick Start — Crypto Earn
- Open the Crypto.com App (approved jurisdiction; Earn excluded for HK SAR, CH, AU, Malta citizens/residents per help center).
- Menu (top left) → Crypto Earn.
- Select token and term (Flexible / 1-month / 3-month); optionally use Maximise Rewards With a Click to batch-allocate eligible balances.
- Confirm allocation — fixed-term rewards accrue with the locked rate; flexible starts the following day on min daily balance.
- Track under Earn → Total Earnings; weekly payout to the token wallet.
Risks & Common Pitfalls
- Not bank deposits: Digital assets are not government-backed deposits; rates can change and capital can fall.
- Headline ≠ wallet rate: Marketing “up to” assumes favorable term + Level Up + Tier 1 band. Large fixed deposits often earn Tier 2/3.
- Early fixed exit: You forfeit rewards already paid (subtracted from principal returned). CRO fixed Earn cannot exit early.
- Level Up CRO ≠ Earn CRO: 365-day Level Up lockup/stake is separate from Earn CRO allocations.
- On-chain slash/fee risk: Validator penalties and CDC service fees reduce net staking yield; unbonding earns nothing.
- Geo & product gaps: Earn, Flash Rewards, and staking availability differ by country; Flash is unavailable in US, UK, Japan, Korea among others.
- MiCA note (EU marketing): Staking pages state staking is not regulated under MiCA as implemented in Malta — read local disclosures.
